High in the foothills of the Eastern Himalayas, Darjeeling tea is cultivated on steep terraces surrounded by drifting mountain mist and cool alpine winds. The altitude – reaching up to 2,000 metres – slows the growth of the tea bushes and intensifies their delicate aromatic profile. The plants rest through the winter, storing their energy until the arrival of spring, when the first tender leaves are carefully hand-picked in what is known as the First Flush.

This early harvest is renowned for its purity, brightness and natural sweetness. The leaves capture the freshness of the season: floral, lively, and elegantly light — far more delicate than most black teas. Because of this uniqueness and the distinctive character imparted by the Himalayan terroir, Darjeeling has long been celebrated as the “Champagne of Tea.” Each sip reflects its origin: a landscape of high clouds, morning silence, and centuries of artisanal cultivation passed down through generations.
