Our dedication to providing only organic teas ensures that no chemical fertilizers or pesticides are used on the tea plantations, guaranteeing a pure, natural tea free from harmful substances.

What’s the difference between pure teas, tea blends and herbal or fruit blends?

Great question! The difference lies in both the ingredients and the type of experience they offer.

Pure teas come from a single tea plant variety (Camellia sinensis) and are not mixed with other botanicals. They reflect the natural character of their origin — soil, altitude, harvest season — resulting in clean, authentic flavour profiles such as those found in green, oolong, white, black or pu erh teas.

Tea blends are also made with leaves of the Camellia sinensis plant, but they are combined with additional ingredients such as flowers, spices, herbs or fruits. These blends offer a wider range of flavours while still containing caffeine from the tea leaves.

Herbal and fruit blends are a bit different. They don’t contain traditional tea leaves at all. Instead, they’re crafted solely from herbs, flowers, dried fruits or spices. These are naturally caffeine-free and are enjoyed for their soothing properties and gentle flavour.

What is the difference between loose tea and tea bags?

Loose tea is typically of premium quality, featuring whole or larger pieces of tea leaves that allow for better flavour extraction and a richer, more nuanced cup. Unlike industrial tea bags, which often contain finely ground tea leaves, loose tea allows the leaves to fully expand during steeping, resulting in a fuller and more aromatic flavour profile. In contrast, the finely ground tea in bags often loses much of its original organoleptic properties, leading to a brew that lacks depth and complexity.

How should I brew these teas for the best flavour?

To bring out the best flavours in your tea, we suggest these simple brewing tips:

  • Green and White Teas: Use water heated to around 70°-80°C and steep for 2-3 minutes. This helps preserve the delicate flavours and natural sweetness.
  • Oolong Teas: Use water heated to around 80°-90°C and steep for 3-4 minutes to enjoy its complex, aromatic flavours.
  • Black Teas: For a rich and robust cup, bring the water to a full boil at 90°-100°C and steep for 3-5 minutes.
  • Pu Erh Teas: Steep with boiling water at 100°C for 3-5 minutes to bring out its deep, earthy notes.
  • Herbal and Fruit Blends: Boil your water to 100°C and let these blends steep for 5-7 minutes to release their full, vibrant flavours.

Remember, each tea is unique! We recommend checking the packaging for any specific brewing instructions to make sure you get the perfect cup every time.

Why do some green and white teas taste bitter, and how can I avoid this?

If your green or white tea tastes a bit bitter, it’s usually due to steeping it for too long or using water that's too hot. These delicate teas are best enjoyed when brewed with care. For the perfect cup, steep your green and white teas for just 2-3 minutes at around 80-85°C. Over-steeping or using water that's too hot can release tannins, which can make the tea taste bitter.

How should I store my teas to keep them fresh?

To ensure your teas stay as fresh and flavorful as the day they were packaged, store them in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and strong odours.
We’ve got you covered with our packaging! Both our resealable pouches and metal canisters are designed with top-notch protection to keep your tea's flavours and aromas intact. These airtight containers guard against moisture and preserve the quality of your tea, so every cup remains as delightful as the first. Enjoy your tea at its best, every time!
